What to do when we feel anxious?

Hi, lovelies! How are you? How's your 2025 so far? I hope you're doing well πŸ’ž

Today's topic focuses on what we can do when feeling anxious. Please note that everyone feels anxious at some point. It's a natural response to stress, uncertainty, or challenging situations. Some people may feel anxious more often or more intensely than others, but it's something that everyone goes through at different levels. It’s a normal part of the human experience, though how we handle it can vary from person to person.

When you're feeling anxious, there are several things you can do to help calm yourself:

1) Breathe deeply: Take slow, deep breaths through your nose and out through your mouth. This helps calm your nervous system.

2) Ground yourself: Use the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique to focus on the present moment. Identify:

  • 5 things you can see πŸ‘€
  • 4 things you can touch ✋
  • 3 things you can hear πŸ‘‚
  • 2 things you can smell πŸ‘ƒ
  • 1 thing you can taste πŸ‘…

3) Challenge your thoughts: Try to identify if any unnecessary or irrational thoughts are contributing to you feeling anxious and ask yourself if they’re realistic or helpful.

4) Get moving: Engaging in physical activity, such as walking on the grass or doing light stretching, can release tension and improve your mood πŸ’ƒ

5) Practice mindfulness or meditation: Engage in mindfulness to become aware of your body and surroundings without judgment πŸ™

6) Talk it out: Share your feelings with a trusted friend or family member.

7) Focus on self-care: Take care of your physical and emotional needs—whether eating something nourishing, getting enough rest, or engaging in an activity that makes you feel good.

I hope this is helpful to everyone. Remember that what we think can affect ourselves and our mental well-being. So, let's be kind to yourself. πŸ€—

Take care and Borahae πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
