Are You Burnout?
Hello, ARMYs! How are you?
It's already December now, and only a few more weeks to go before we enter 2025. And what awaits us in 2025? (drum roll) It's an OT7 reunion!!!! Yeahh!!! πππ
Since it's December, I feel like my energy is draining nowadays. Just like a battery, we do experience burnout and need to recharge. So, how can we know the signs of burnout? And what exactly is burnout?
First and foremost, burnout can happen to everyone at some point or another. When our lives get busier as we deal with daily duties, such as working, helping others, taking care of our families, etc., we tend to forget to take a step back and rest. The constant, overwhelming feeling can cause burnout. It can be related to the job, the study period, and other aspects of life, too.
Burnout can have many symptoms. Here are the signs to look for if you or someone close to you is experiencing burnout:
- Exhaustion: You might feel drained and experience extreme tiredness. This symptom can show up as physical pain and stomach (or bowel) problems.
- Withdrawal from activities: You may start to distance yourself emotionally and feel numb about your work and environment.
- Reduced performance: You feel like you have no energy left for everyday tasks. It is also hard for you to concentrate.
- Mental burnout symptoms: You may feel self-doubt, helplessness, defeat, and failure.
- Physical burnout symptoms: You may feel extremely fatigued and without energy. Thus, you tend to get sick often, have body aches, recurring headaches, lose your appetite, or experience insomnia.
Last but not least, if you find yourself experiencing burnout, don't try to keep going. Instead, take a break. You can try to do anything that makes you feel more relaxed. It can be spending time with loved ones, doing your hobby like reading, sleeping, etc., or healthy eating, or you can just do nothing and chill for the day.
It might be hard, but do it for you. Like a battery, we need to recharge in order to carry out our responsibilities, so give yourself a break that you need.
That's all for today. I wish you the best, ARMYs!
