How Much Exercise do We Need?

Hello, lovelies!! How are you? It's already mid-March. This month, I celebrate Ramadan Mubarak, so I'm very, very excited about that. This month also has been so hectic for me 😫 How about you?

One of my goals for this year is to exercise regularly, but how can I exercise if I don't have any energy to do it as I can't drink or eat during Ramadan? So, how many exercises do I(we) need to be healthy and fit?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week, such as 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Examples of moderate-intensity physical activity are brisk walking (3 miles per hour), riding a bicycle, dancing, doubles tennis, hiking, and many more.

So, if you are doing intermittent fasting or fasting due to religious practices, you can try to achieve 10k steps per day. While walking 10k steps per day can help you to lose weight (at least around 230kcal per day was burned), it couldn't help to tone and build muscle, as those can be achieved through strength training or weightlifting.

In other words, if you don't have time to jog, ride a bicycle or do other outdoor physical activity, you can just walk briskly around or in the house. To track your steps and how many miles you have walked, you can download any pedometer app suitable for your needs.

You can try to start with small goals first such as 3k first and increase slowly by week until you reach your fitness goals.

Honestly, I get to achieve around 8k so far so I do need to walk more πŸ˜… So, together let's be a healthier version of us this year πŸ’ͺ

Take care and Borahae πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
